I was starting in to re-read Busman's Honeymoon (one of the Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries by Dorothy Sayers), and found a quote I just love. Peter's mother is writing in her diary about a visit from Harriet Vane (Peter's fiancee):
"Talked Peter till I could almost hear him saying, 'Mother dear, you are having an orgy' (or is it orgie?)"
